We are delighted to be welcoming John Wilson, wine writer, The Irish Times, to Cork, on Thursday 5th December. John will give a presentation and wine tasting based around the famous Corkman and wine writer Maurice Healy.

John will be joined by Dermot Sugrue (Co. Limerick born, and features on P98 of this months Decanter Magazine) now of Wiston Sparkling Wine, Sussex and Simon Tyrrell with his Les Deux Cols Cuvée d’Alize Cotes du Rhone.

The line-up on the night will include

Marc will lead us on a tutored tasting of a range of the finest Hennessy Cognac, which will also be paired with some matching food tastings by the team at Ballymaloe.

John is one of the legends of the Irish wine scene and has many years of experience in the wine trade, especially in relation to the wines of Australia.

John will talk about winemaking and winemakers in the Clare Valley in Australia and will give a guided tasting of six wines from this beautiful part of the world. John has a wonderful, engaging presentation style and is deeply passionate and knowledgeable about Australian wine so it promises to be a memorable tasting.


A super tasting deserves a super location and where better than the beautiful surroundings of Hayfield Manor.

Presentation & Tasting with Pat Neville of Domaine Aoghnusa

We are delighted to welcome Wexford Man, Pat Neville of Domaine Aoghnusa, Corbieres AC to give a presentation and tasting of his remarkable wines in Fresco Bistro @ The Glucksman in assocation with Karwig Wines


Pat and his wife Catherine set up their winery Domaine Aoghnusa (1 hour from Carcassonne) in 2001. Since then, they have been producing really easy drinking wines from local grape varieties, that have potential to develop beautifully in the bottle.
